SUCCESS with CARBOTEC!
All the salmon shown in this photo gallery were caught using Carbotec, 14, 15 and 16 ft salmon rods. Click here for our most popular range of Carbotec rods and if you are looking for a design and length that is not specified on this site, please contact us at Salar Pursuits.
All Carbotec fly rods are hand-made in Devon and each rod can be personalised for yourself, or as a gift for a friend or relative, with initials marked close to the handle.
This is the recommendation from Allan Donaldson, one of the most experienced Scottish ghillies and an avid supporter of Carbotec fly rods:
"I have been using my 15 ft Carbotec rod for the last four seasons, and right from the start I have been absolutely delighted with it. It's a mainstay tool of my trade".
"The Carbotec is a relatively light rod but it has plenty of reserves of power when required. It performs effortlessly for me when matched up with a 10/11 weight floating spey line, and I like its crisp positive action. It also handles an intermediate line comfortably.
The rod is well finished throughout and I particularly like the slightly longer cork handle. The reel seat fitting is uncomplicated and secure. It is an excellent rod and super value for money".
"I used Andrew Bett‘s 16ft Carbotec last summer. It is a beefier rod with a slightly faster action, although I managed to throw 46yds during a short trial, using a 10/11 Carron Jetstream floater. I felt it would have benefited from an 11/12 rated line and would undoubtably handle an intermediate and a wet cell 2, which was totally impracticable to try anywhere on our shrunken river.
With a nice shaped cork handle and comfortable butt stop it will suit anybody's requirements for a medium to big river"
