On a rising barometer...
...insects hatch, Trout rise and Salmon take.

Welcome to Salar Pursuits, the company that discovered the secret of why a salmon takes a fly in fresh water and how this knowledge helps us catch more trout, sea trout and salmon.

A recent message from Egil Hagerup, fishing guide on the famous Namsen river in Norway, ran as follows:

"Norway calling. We’re still fishing, and I’m checking my Casio barometer watch continuously; and I’m becoming more and more convinced that you are right, and so are even the fishermen I row (guide). Today the group who was at the hotel caught almost 50 kilo (110 lbs) of salmon in four hours. The biggest one was 18 (!) kilo (40 lbs), and guess what – yep – the barometer rose three millibar during those hours".
