Catch more Salmon, Trout and Sea Trout using a Casio Barometric Watch

Using a Casio Triple Sensor barometric watch Andrew Bett, at Salar Pursuits, has proven that on a steadily rising barometer you will catch more salmon, trout and sea trout. Salmon, trout and sea trout fishers have for years known that weather plays a crucial role in creating the right fishing conditions, and some fishers have suspected that barometric pressure is the common link. Andrew has just completed a seven year study into the physiology of salmon, trout and sea trout (the salmonids), and also into the anatomy of arthropods and aquatic insects. The study has found that salmonids and the aquatic insects on which they feed both respond to barometric pressure changes. The effect of a rising barometer is amazing, and the study findings strongly recommend: ‘Don’t go game fishing without a Casio barometric watch’!

A recent message from Egil Hagerup, fishing guide on the famous Namsen river in Norway, ran as follows:

‘Norway calling. We’re still fishing, and I’m checking my barometer watch continuously; and I’m becoming more and more convinced that you are right, and so are even the fishermen I row (guide). Today the group who was at the hotel caught almost 50 kilo (110 lbs) of salmon in four hours. The biggest one was 18 (!) kilo (40 lbs), and guess what – yep- the barometer rose three millibar during those hours’.

All salmonids will react to the barometric changes in the same way, all over the world, from New Zealand to Russia, from Argentina to Canada and from South Africa to Norway.
